Ticked off

Is it just me or is up down and down up? I mean how does a grown woman find it in herself to not only tell a lie, but then back up that lie with several others? How have we come to the place where an entire political party can turn into a complete host of morons? Does power really mean that much? Does power really mean enough that you are willing to destroy not just a man’s life, but an entire family? Destroy them without a single care or concern for what pain and misery you are inflicting. Do us all a huge favor……Keep doing exactly what you’re doing. Keep acting like the animals you are. Keep going on TV and ranting about things that make absolutely no sense. Keep lining up in the halls of Washington and chanting your insane babblings. Keep blocking traffic and stopping intersections. Keep on doing exactly what you are doing. This will make it easier for the weaker among us to know who they should NOT vote for.

Another thing – hey morons – hey idiots – keep poking the bear. Keep throwing your crap in our face, Keep trying to push your socialist, blood sucking agenda down our throats. Keep trying to spread your anti moral agenda. Keep on. The American people spoke with their votes in 2016. We are still out here, standing to the side, shaking our heads and trying desperately to stay out of all the drama. Trying desperately to avoid conflict. Doing everything in our power to just go to work (yeah, we have jobs, we go to work EVERY day – that’s why we don’t have time to protest 5 days a week) support our families and raise our kids. The same kids that you are trying to corrupt and drag down in the sewer you live in. We do mind our own business – we don’t get too loud, we try so hard to keep our heads down, noses to the grindstone and just do the right thing. You turn your nose up at us, you besmirch our values.

We have spoke once and we will again. We will stand for what we believe. We will protect our own. Up may seem down and down may seem up, but we have our feet on the ground, we know what is right. You will not change our reality. You will not overrun us with your filth. We will be right here. We may be silent, we may be in the background, but make no mistake we are here. If you keep poking the bear, the bear will eventually poke back.

Let’s all protest!

OK, so another Sunday, and even more millionaire ballplayers are kneeling, sitting, hugging one another, or even staying in the locker room to protest…….a few observations:

First of all, I would just as soon the President not send out any more tweets or put out any more comments about these “protesters”. Please understand, it’s not that I support them – it’s just that, from where I sit, it’s only giving press and adding fuel to something that just doesn’t deserve it.

Secondly, what exactly are they protesting? I hear the same line over and over. They are protesting the improper treatment of African Americans. OK first of all, which incidents are you referring to? Here’s the deal, normally when we see a protest or a movement of any kind, the platform or statement that is being made is abundantly clear. For instance: ANTI FA protesters are making a few things more than clear. They are making it clear that they are, for the most part, ignorant. They are making it clear that they are cowards who will only act out if they are in a mob, and then they are making it clear that they stand firmly for a communist, government led way of life……see point one…..ignorant.

Back to the original question. What are you protesting? Which incidents are you referring to? Are you seriously trying to act like your reality resembles anything like normal life? I actually heard a local radio host, who happens to be black, say that others who aren’t black cannot possibly understand his life. He tried to prove his point by telling a story about why he is reluctant to go out for a jog early in the morning outside his Buckhead apartment.

If you want to be taken seriously by those of us who happen to respect the flag and all that it stands for, tell us WHAT you are protesting. Give me examples. You must, of course give me examples of mistreatment in which, after the facts came out, the police were found to be in the right. Show me the examples where any person, black, white, blue, green, whatever does not have the chance to make a life. Tell me why it is that you find it so easy to disrespect our flag and those that fought for her. Tell me how you think the country you live in is so terrible, and then tell me where else on earth you would rather live.

This country, and the opportunity it affords, is the only one on earth where you can go out and play a game, and make more money than most of us will ever see in our lives. Please understand, this is not about the money. If the market dictates that kind of salary and you can get it, more power to you. Just don’t turn around and expect to be taken seriously when you form your protest against…………what was it again?

I say let’s all protest. I, of course, will only be available when I’m not working, or taking care of things around my house, or spending time with my family. I am available at any other time to protest…..something, anything, I feel left out.

The right not to be offended??

Imagine a society where no one is ever offended….Everyone behaving in such a way that whatever they do, at all times, is absolutely non-offensive to anyone. Every person would have the God given right to not be offended…..by anything….ever. Everyone would be so happy. In this perfect utopia of Non-0ffensive land” It’s always bright and happy and oh so wonderful.

No thanks.

This is the real world where NO ONE has the RIGHT to not be offended. You, me, no one has the right to affect change of any kind because we are offended.

What causes a person to get offended? Personally, I think it’s a way too high opinion of one’s self. It seems to stem from a thought that no one else has the right to say or do anything that makes one uncomfortable. No one is allowed to say anything or act in anyway, or wear something that offends these people. And yes, I do mean “these people”.

Let’s look at the heart of the matter. Watch the news. Some guy is offended by a sticker on a co-workers hard hat, while another is offended by a flag. Let’s not forget those that are offended by historical monuments. Do these symbols really affect their lives to the point that they cannot go on? Apparently so.

Here’s an idea, get over yourself, you’re just not that important. Trust me, I know – remember, I’m one of those Christian Conservatives on the right- you know – the only group of people in this country that it is still ok to offend.

“Just a Regular Guy”

“Just a regular guy” Even days later, I find myself trying to provide an explanation for what I mean by that description. For the purposes of this blog, perhaps we should use the term “normal”. I’m just a normal, regular, everyday, nothing special guy. 40-something, born and raised in a middle class home by a hard working dad and even harder working mother. Dad was self-employed and worked as hard or harder than any man I have ever known. Mom stayed home and took care of my brother, sister and I (yeah, I know – that poor oppressed woman!). I know that by today’s standards, it was an archaic idea of the man doing whatever he could to support the family and the woman doing her best to take care of things at home. An idea that is looked down on and even made fun of today. All I know is that, by their example, they taught us to work hard, fear God, and, pay attention now – to take responsibility for our own actions. I know that this whole idea isn’t very popular today, so try to follow along. This means to be accountable for your own actions. Good actions have their own rewards and bad or miss-guided have their consequences. miss-guided or bad actions were followed by the belt – that would be what is known as “corporal punishment” or, in layman’s terms – a whipping. (I can hear the gasp and the “did he say whippings?) – yes, whippings – not spankings – those were reserved for my sister or some other fortunate souls. No, I got whippings – and you know what? I turned out alright – better than alright, I mean after all, I have managed to grow up without spending time in jail, never had an addiction that ruined my life, I have a good understanding of right and wrong and I have a healthy respect for authority. I owe all of these things to that aforementioned archaic home set up and those whippings. We’ll get back to that accountability and respect for authority thing, but like those real authors say….I digress.
Raised up to know the value of hard work. Now that alone set some of my other values in place by itself. In other words, Go out, get a job, earn a paycheck, support YOURSELF, or YOUR FAMILY. Don’t look for a handout. I learned the importance of looking out for my fellow man. Do we have a responsibility to help my fellow man? Do I have a Christian responsibility to help those less fortunate? Yes of course, but that can be done on my terms. There is a value to getting up every morning, going to a job, working hard and then collecting that paycheck. Then a portion of that pay is taken away to support some deadbeat who doesn’t see the need to go to work to support himself or his family? I’m supposed to be ok with that? No – don’t think so.
So many of my “Regular” or “Normal” values just seemed to come naturally. They grew and were nurtured in the environment I was raised in. Respect for the Constitution – respect for the law and those that enforce it. Freedom of Religion, Freedom of Speech, Freedom of Assembly, Freedom to bear arms. These are freedoms – I have learned to appreciate and honor these freedoms. Chiefly because I understand that they were not free:
Respect for the Police and Armed Forces. Bottom line, these are people who, voluntarily, put their lives on the line for me and my family every day. Whether it’s a policeman, who in our society, doesn’t know if he’ll get shot at the next traffic stop. Or a member of our armed forces who volunteers to go overseas and spend time away from his family. I appreciate what they do. My heart warms with gratitude every time I think about their sacrifice.
I know that this has been long-winded, but it’s these things that make me what I am – they’re not special, but they were instilled in me by my upbringing – that I thank God for everyday. They are not special – but, to me, they are “normal”. Does that mean that I think that everyone should believe what I believe? No, I respect and understand that there are other points of view. I know that there are some that will read this and come to the conclusion that I am a total moron. That, of course, is your opinion. As a Christian, Conservative, American citizen, I am very well aware of the fact that there are those that hate me for what I believe, and trust me when I tell you that I am perfectly fine with that. Here’s where I do have a problem:
The feeling from the left is that we, as conservatives, are allowed to have an opinion, as long as we keep them to ourselves. To them, our opinions do not matter – we have no good solutions – and there aren’t enough of us to matter anyway. I would argue that, based on the last election, there are still plenty of us “regular” guys out there. There are still plenty out there who hold to normal – everyday – American values.
This is where this “regular” guy has a problem – the reason for this whole blog – the real reason I wanted to start a blog. (If you have managed to hang on this long with me, I really appreciate it). My problem is that the left in this country is trying to make the abnormal – normal. They are trying to make the double -standard – the new standard. It is this whole idea – this whole whacked out movement that makes me as a normal guy just look around and wonder what in the world is going on.

The whole “trans-gender” bathroom thing. What? are you kidding me – I mean REALLY!? So we are actually debating which bathroom these sickos can use based on what they FEEL like they are?

The Muslim – terrorists issue. How many times does this have to happen – how is it possible for any American to get upset when we normal people make the correlation between terrorist and muslim?

The immigration issue – When I hear one of these bleeding heart, wet-the-bed liberal media people say something like “These in-documented (that’s illegal for those of you taking notes) workers are concerned that they may be deported if President Trump’s new executive order goes into effect”. There are already laws on the books concerning immigration – that’s where the term “illegal” comes from!!

This whole BLM and cop killing thing. OK, let me get this straight. You’re going to protest a guy getting killed by killing someone else?? Oh, and let’s not forget that, once the actual FACTS were examined, these guys weren’t exactly model citizens that were being arrested and the fact that they were resisting gets completely over-looked.

The 2nd Amendment issue – No other issue in history has been politicized as much as this issue. Some worthless waste of human flesh goes on a shooting rampage and kills innocent people and they blame the gun? Do you ever ask yourself why? Why? because it’s the easy thing to do – don’t look at the human condition or the lack of God in our society – they lack of a strong family unit – no – we would rather address a symptom than address the solution. The inanimate object is not to blame and infringing on a constitutional right is not the answer

There are so many more issues – so many instances of those in our society who want to make the abnormal normal. They want us to question everything that we hold dear and they will not be happy until they have forced themselves into every area of our lives – social, financial or spiritual.

So what is the point? What is the point to all of this? The point is that even though, by my own description, these values are normal – nothing special – nothing spectacular – they are values that I, through the early part of my life, I meandered into. They did not start out as issues to “draw a line” over. As I look at our society, at our country, they have become just that. They have become issues that, though normal, I will fight for. I will hold close to my heart – I will pass along to my children. They are values, that though they come under attack, that though they be mocked, or made fun of, are strong. They stand in the face of those who desire the abnormal – those who thrive in the realm of the double standard. They are not those things that some in our society find popular or easy, but they are what I believe – they are what make me who and what I am – they are what make me “Just a Regular Guy”.

First blog post

“Just a regular guy” That’s how I see myself – nothing special. Don’t really have any grand aspirations. Just wanted a place to put down what I’m thinking about our country and society in general. There are times that I just look around and think “Wow, are people really THAT stupid?!” If you’re a deplorable, or one of those “narrow-minded conservatives”, you’ll feel right at home. If you’re a wet the bed liberal, consider yourself warned.
